Game Review
I'm not totally sure the title works for me but yeah, don't get confused by the game title. This flash game is called "This is not a minimalist game" and it is tagged under "minimalism". I guessed you already figured out this game is made from scratch in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare #26. The previous post was another well designed entry for the competition, called XYZ. Continue reading if you don't know where to start!

In the game, you are a mighty warrior who spends his life doing quests for various NPC in a medieval fantasy setting. You start off with 99 evil wizard heads killstreak and looking for the last one to complete your quest. Lucky for you, there is one at the corner. All you wanted to do was to chop off his head but he cast a curse; downgrades your colored world into something much simpler. A world where there is no more colors, no more details. Even the way people talk has changed, only the essential words are left. Solve the challenges and get the world back the way it was.

There is no way this is a not a minimalist game. The idea behind is pretty deep when the character freaked out about the three-dimensional object when he acted so nonchalant about the square people freaking out about colors and things with no angles. It caught me thinking beyond fourth dimension, and then fifth, and then sixth... You know what? My mind can't even process it. This entire game is kind of about the human ability to understand what is less than their knowledge, yet they are unable to understand what is more than what their brain accepts.

Superb but could have been longer though. Things weren't nearly detailed enough yet. This needed more colors, content, perhaps creatures too. Another game with so much potential! Should definitely consider creating a more refined version. I think everyone would love it! By the way, this is "not" a minimalist game review. ^^
