Game Review
I think I have fallen in love with procrastination. Quite often when I procrastinate, I'll find myself doing things I really enjoy; I should be studying for my exams but hey, I chose to write a review on this game called Which? by Yoshio Ishii. Give this game a try, I bet you will be spending a quality five minutes of fun in this flash game.

Which? is a short and simple puzzle flash game. You are given a question and two circles in front of you; Circle A and Circle B. You have to choose between two to answer the question. Those questions are pretty straightforward and direct. For an example, one of them is asking you to choose between which is soft or hard. Players will have to point and click to the circle to tell the difference in all twenty levels. That's all about it! There aren't any trap questions or misleading answers yet, one can be fooled by the simplicity of the game. A reminder, each game is randomized so can't expect the same answers for each game.

Simple logic and minimal experimentation are all you need for the game. It's a piece of cake but, an enjoyable little game. I would purpose the game to be longer and have more variations! I managed to get 18/20 on my first try. WEEEEE! ^^

Which? Guide
Solution to Which?
1) Which Soft? - Pick up and drop both circles. One will smoosh/ flatten as it lands.
2) Which Switch? - Click on both circles. The one that turns off the light is the correct one.
3) Which Heavier? - Drop both circles. Each will shake the screen, but one will shake it more than the other.
4) Which Painted? - Drag the cursor in each circle. One will leave a streak of paint.
5) Which Cleanness? - Pick up each circle. One will be colored, the other will be clear. Pick the clear ball.
6) Which Soft (2)? - Click each circle. One will look like you're pushing into it. That is the correct ball.
7) Which Rough? - Click and drag your cursor over each circle. One will drag slower than the other.
8) Which Thin? - Click on either the left or right side of the circles to see how thick each one is.
9) Which Lucky? - Click and drag over each circle to clear away the color. Choose the circle with the star.
10) Which Light? - Click and drag the roof/area above the circle upwards. The lighter circle rises faster.
11) Which Cutting? - Click and drag the right area of each circle. One should have a removable section.
12) Which Ice? - Click and drag each circle. Then let go. One will keep sliding after you let go.
13) Which Rotation? - Click and hold each circle. One will move the cursor around.
14) Which Ball? - Click and drag your cursor on each circle. The view of your cursor should move like its moving around a ball for the correct one.
15) Which Sticky? - Try to click and drag your cursor on each ball. One shouldn't move your cursor when you do this.
16) Which Heavier (2)? - Click and drag each circle upwards. One should stay in place when holding it, the other should slide out of the cursor.
17) Which Luck (2)? - Click and drag any edge of the circle over itself. It should peel away and one should have a star under it.
18) Which Old? - Pick up each circle. The one that's brighter is the older one.
19) Which Bigger? - Click each circle to make them smaller. Keep clicking them until they resize themselves. One will resize much bigger than the other.
20) Which Living? - Click and hold one each circle. The mouse will pulse to the heartbeat of the live one.

Code Fred: Survival Mode Game Review

Genre: Adventure, Education

Game Review
Our body is a complex system built for everyday's survival and incredible phenomena are happening in your body all the time. But have you ever stopped to think about what keeps you breathing, how information travels from your senses to your brain instantly, or any of the other amazing things that constantly happen to keep you alive? What happens when the human body is put into extreme situations? These questions can be answered by Code Fred: Survival Mode sponsored by the Museum of Science and Technology of Chicago, which is an educational flash game teaching how your body works.

In the game, you are Fred. Fred is having a really bad day! Lost in a forest late at night while making your way back to camp. Soon, you find yourself attacking by a lone wolf. Your job is to jump inside the human body and participate in these physiological processes to help Fred outrun danger in the woods in various engaging mini games. For example, build a blood clot to help heal a wolf bite, prioritize energy intake to the most critical organs, and even fight bacteria invaders after Fred gets sneezed on in the woods.

The idea behind Code Fred: Survival Mode is original. It presents the human body in an understandable way that still makes me feel a little smart! The information is accurate and meaningful from a medical and scientific point of view. I can safely say, the education factor is beneficial to people of all ages. Things like this should appear more often in classrooms! Biology would become so much more interesting when you see things in action like this. This is probably one of the most educational games I have played. Now no one can say I haven't been productive! >:D

Psychic Arrow Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Play Online: Psychic Arrow
Developer: UknownXL, Antriel & Sound Tricks
Genre: Launch, Upgrades

Game Review
It's definitely been quite some time since I last played and make a review of a launcher flash game. I will be introducing one called Psychic Arrow. I went on and start to watch the intro. It looks good to me, the intro take on the whole launching game thing. I played it and found that I couldn't stop till I finished it.

It goes something like... While quietly meditating you uncover a disturbing image of the future from your crystal ball. In your homeland has fallen victim to a massive attack and left in complete ruin. Your fellow islanders still unaware of the oncoming assault, their fate is left completely in your hands. You have to serve justice and push your psychic abilities far enough to defeat the oncoming attack and vanquish their leader. Wow, pretty intensive for a short 30 second intro!

Just like the other launcher games, you start off slow and steady at the beginning. Feel bad for that first guy. I mean you kill him so many times however indirectly, you're slowly gathering up the currency needed to buy upgrades. With upgrades, you can go further and aim even higher... I really enjoyed Psychic Arrow especially how the character and arrow changed its appearances as you fully upgrade them; so badass looking! The physics of the arrow is pretty amazing too. When the initial power from the launch has depleted, I can no longer use the boost option, even though I've saved it up for when the arrow begins to decline. Speed wasn't an issue for me after upgrading everything. I mean you should have a harder time controlling fast moving objects, pretty logical right? Haha.

All in all, a sweet game. Try Psychic Arrow today! :)

Psychic Arrow Guide
List of Upgrades in Psychic Arrow
Hero's Power - Increases the inital launch power and speed of the arrow.
Spirit Speed - Increases the arrow's normal speed.
Spirit Boost - Increases booster speed when clicking.
Spirit Control - Increases your control over the arrow while in flight.
Energy Limit - Increases your maximum energy limit for longer flight.
Orb Booster Limit - Increases your maximum bosster energy.
Glass Orb Detection - You can detect more glass orbs. (Restores booster fuel)
Barrel Launchers - Higher appearance of barrels. (Boosts arrow for extra flight).
Soul Absorption - Quality of souls increase. Souls are now worth more.
Soul Detection - Higher amount of souls appear.
Pirate Appearance Bonus - Greater chance of appearing pirates. (When eliminated they offer soul bonuses)

Recommended Build for Psychic Arrow
1. Soul Detection
2. Soul Absorption
3. Pirate Appearance
4. Hero's Power
5. Spirit Speed
6. Spirit Control
7. Spirit Boost
8. Energy Limit
9. Orb Booster Limit
10. Glass Orb Detection
11. Barrel Launchers
12. Repeat! :)

In this build, I focus on collecting souls first. Soul Detection, Soul Absorption and Pirate Appearance are good ways to increase your souls quickly. Once you have the purchasing power, go ahead and get all other upgrades you need to clear the game. In my opinion, I find this build effective if you are trying to clear Psychic Arrow in the shortest amount of time.

Bearbarians Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Game Review
I knew I had to play this game called Bearbarians (wonder why not call it Barbearians instead), after seeing the cute thumbnail featured on the main page of Kongregate. My senses tell me it is going to be an outstanding flash game and it really is. Guys, get ready and brace yourself with some blood-soaked 2D arena battle! This one is pretty solid one. ^^

In the game, your village has been destroyed. As the surviving hero of the land of Bearbaria, you have to rebuild your team and defeat your enemies to become the ultimate warrior. My first impression in the tutorial is probably like, "only axes and swords. Erm, ok." As I progress deeper, I slowly realize I have a pistol in my pocket. Wait… Did I say bears with sword and pistol? What an awesome combination! Things escalated quickly just like how I started to enjoy the game.

In all battles, you get to choose to play a class out of four. Each of those four character types have their roles to fulfill an example is medics, they are always supporting and healing your wounded bear-warriors. Or as for other roles, if you feel like it's too early to die, you can actually block incoming attacks. It's kind of silly to see animals cheerfully beating the stuffing out of each other. It makes me sad when I stab smiling bears to death with a rusty knife but the whole idea is to survive and kill in modes like team deathmatch and team survival.

The fact that Bearbarians involve shooting/cutting attacks, this mean it requires more than just tapping the buttons, you really need fast reflexes to keep from constantly dying. In my honest opinion, I won't mind spending time playing it again in the future. It does have some replayability value in it; shop and customize your warriors to improve stats or for the sake of appearance. Overall, Bearbarians is pretty outstanding and addictive. Music and sound effects fit the action, the controls are pretty responsive. It will be great to have versus mode and online multiplayer mode.

Bearbarians Guide
List of Roles in Bearbarians
Scouts - Light but quick; they are armed with a melee weapon and a pistol. The first on the scene and devastating in numbers.
Brutes - Powerful tank units; slow but very strong! They wield a melee weapon and fire shotguns.
Medic - Vital support units who can heal their team mates (with the attack button) and fire a rifle.
Mage - Mystical warriors who shoot fire balls and can 'blink' teleport by pressing the block button.

Walkthrough to Bearbarians
I know it's hard to pick a dominant role in Bearbarians. Don't worry, let me break it down for you. If you like to run around shoot every once and a while but sticking mostly to melee hit and runs. Go for scout! If you want to go in and take out their entire team with mixed attacks, go for Brute. If you feel supporting your AI is the best way to win while hitting enemies from afar, definitely Medic. Lastly, if you want to be strictly ranged from any distance Mage is the best way to go.

There is a easy way to win and a not so easy win. To beat the game is super easy. Go for Mage, they are like the insta caster of doom. Remember to build a team of Brutes and Medics. Buy items that increase range on Mage and max health and melee on your team. When the game start, basically find a safe corner and start spamming. Feel threatened? Simply blink away.

This is my guide for not so easy way to win. Always play as a Brute or Scout. Keep your distance and use ranged attacks as much as possible. Shooting always seems to be the stronger attack. When the enemies charging towards you, always block first then attack. Precise timing is the key to kill. Always get better items when you level up, and remember to equip the items on your whole party, not just your main guy. Pro-Tip: Medic has greatest DPS. Equip with the highest ranged stat items, then press directional button in quick succession. The result is an overpowered machine gun blast that mows down the enemy. Of course, stick to your preferred play style, but it's fun to try.

Heart The Beat Game Review

Heart The Beat
Heart The Beat Logo

Play Online: Heart The Beat
Developer: Nico Tuason
Genre: Music

Game Review
Heart The Beat is definitely one of those games that will induce a bad headache or worst seizure after playing. The idea of the game is simple, basically to dodge the crazy beating walls and collect coins in this pulsing. The more coins you collect, the higher your score multiplier but resets upon hitting a wall. You can choose to move with the left and right arrow keys, or with the ‘A’ and ‘D’ keys.

The gameplay itself is very smooth. All the spinning, the zooming in and out effects is in perfect synchronization with the beat. It senses just like a regular heartbeat and I felt that the developer made a perfect choice selection for the game. However, the replayability is really taken out by only having the one track and limited effects. Perhaps with a couple of extra songs or going horizontally after collecting some special coins can drastically bring the gameplay to a whole new level. It also won't hurt to have little tweaks like, letting players pick the color of the ship and the walls, could really put some extra fun into it.

I must say that the game is quite a challenging game! The coins kind of lured me into getting hit by a wall, because the wall would overlap the coin. I possibly might have just screwed up, but it did appear that the wall covered half of the coin. It was a very enjoyable experience but my eyes hurt now after staring at it. For a second, my floor actually zoomed in and out... Same effect as the spiral optical illusion.

400 Years Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

400 Years
400 Years Logo

Play Online: 400 Years
Developer: Scriptwelder
Genre: Action, Story

Game Review
Humans have a life expectancy of 80 years in developed countries. Let us compare ourselves to the lifespan of a planetary object... In short, our time is a point if you were to plot down a timeline. The concept of time and whether it has an end has always been a question to me. 400 years is an awesome flash game from Scriptwelder about a glimpse into time.

In the game, you play as a stone statue (resembles a Moai statue) who senses a great calamity approaching the world. You embark a journey to stop it in 400 years. Time is basically both on your side and working against you. When you come up against an obstacle in your path you can't get past, all you can really do is just to wait. Holding the space bar will advance time through the seasons and years, the landscape around you changes too until your presents a solution. Like waiting till the winter for the lake to freeze or wait a few years for a chestnut tree to grow tall enough and then climb over the cliff.

The farther you go, you find yourself playing a more active role in shaping the world around you such as feeding a village and wait until they build bridges across the lake. It's rare to find discover new game concepts, and the implementation of "waiting for time" as a solution is pretty original and beautiful. Really a bowl of fresh air to play such games, especially the slow pace, slow music, easy graphics made it a joy to wander around. Then, ended with no great meaning made obvious to the reader.

I loved every bit of this little game. Patience is a virtue that really sums up the game and also meaningful although short; I wish it was longer, at least twice as long. Perhaps, this might be the reason why we survive 2012. He saved us all... Let’s play again and spare no one now. >:)

400 Years Guide
Solution to 400 Years
- Stand up and head to the right. Don't be afraid of water... stone can't breathe, so just walk right through it!
- When you encounter the second pond with no slope to climb out the other side on, press and hold [spacebar] to advance time to winter so it freezes over.
- Continue heading right.
- Climb the first tree at the cliff.
- On top of the ledge, press and hold [spacebar] to advance time to wait for the second tree to grow large enough to climb... about ten years!
- Once you've climbed up, advance the time to fall.
- Head to the right and press [E] to pick up one of the chesnuts. Be careful not to advance time while carrying it since it will crumble to dust! (Don't worry, you can always advance to fall again and pick up another if this happens.)
- Continue to the right until you hit a wall, and press [E] again while standing close to it to plant the chestnut.
- Advance time until the newly planted tree is tall enough to climb. (Around ten to thirteen years or so.)
- Climb the tree, and once atop the cliff, advance the time to winter.
- Head to the right, crossing over the frozen water, and continue on.
- When you get to the cliff, just step off. Don't be scared, you're very sturdy.
- Making sure the season is still set to winter, continue to the right past the village and cross the frozen water.
- On the other side of the water, advance the time to fall.
- Press [E] while standing in it to pick some of the grain you find growing there. Once again, don't advance time or the grain will crumble to dust and you'll have to come back for more.
- Head to the left back towards the village and fall into the water you had just crossed.
- Walk along under the water to the left, through the tunnel, until you reach a tree.
- Climb the tree and head to the right until you fall back to the village.
- Press [E] when prompted to plant the grain, right at the spot you fell in.
- Head to the right and stand beside the water.
- Advance time for... a long time. Over the span of several decades, you will notice the village begin to improve, and eventually they will start building a bridge.
- When the bridge is completed (you can stop advancing time whenever you like to check on its progress) head to the right and cross it.
- Where you originally found the grain, you should now find a new settlement of villagers.
- Keep heading to the right until you encounter a small pond of water. If there is no bridge across it yet, advance time more years until the villagers build a bridge across that gap as well.
- Proceed to the right until you encounter another big body of water.
- Advance time while standing on the shore until it is winter and the water has frozen over.
- Head across the water while it's iced over, but stop roughly in the middle of the lake and advance time so the ice melts.
- If done correctly, you should fall through the ice and down a long, long tunnel underwater. If you missed, just climb out and try again.
- Walk all the way to the right, climbing the slope, until you reach a wall with stalactites and stalagmites growing from the ceiling and floor.
- Once more, advance time until the stalactites have grown up from the ground enough for you to climb over the wall. This will take a LONG TIME, easily over 70 years, so be patient.
- Climb over the wall and proceed to the right down into the water.
- Advance time to summer and continue walking through the water to the right. Eventually, you should encounter a net dangling from the surface. Use this to climb up to land. (The boat only both has its net down and is close to the left side of the screen where you want it in the summer.)
- Head to the left through the village until you encounter a wall.
- Advance time once more until the tree there grows tall enough to climb... don't worry if you can't see it right away, it's there.
- At the top of the wall once you can climb, advance time to fall.
- Pick up one of the chestnuts lying on the ground.
- Head back to the right.
- Keep walking right until you fall into the water you climbed up out of.
- The boat should now be parked on the right side of the shore opposite the village. Use its net to climb up and out.
- Walk up to the wall and plant your chestnut against it.
- Once more, advance time until your newly planted tree is tall enough to climb.
- Climb the tree and continue walking to the right.
- At the top of the tall, sooty mountain, you should find a hole. Climb all the way down it.

Game Review
In Battle for Darkness, the soldiers of the Realm kept our evil forces out of the mainland. Time is different now… Let's begin a new age of darkness and claim back whatever is ours. Command the ever growing evil hordes in an epic battle to defeat the armies of the Realm and the mighty Titan.

This is a very refreshing game and I love the concept of this game. For once, the good guys are defeated. I always kind of liked the idea of leading evil forces as the main role than being the good guys. You start right off with the 3 weak Goblins Warriors and it starts generating a small income by slaying the Peasants. Once you are out of units, you use the gold to upgrade and build an even stronger army that destroy everything in its path.

The idea of switching units to conquer is simple and yet fun. Each unit having its own unique skill was neat. The difficulty curve is reasonably balanced, I managed to complete the game in 32 days pretty easily without much effort. I actually went up against the Titan 3 times, he is definitely a tough nut to crack. However the game lacks of progression because you restart every time in the same place against the same units. In other word, repetitive but I disagree with some saying there is no strategy to the game. In fact this isn't the case, it does have some strategy. Without proper care and strategy you simply cannot beat the game. The game is tactical and challenging if you try to win in the fewest days possible, otherwise, as others have said, it's just a grind.

The game might be a little better if it was a little more action oriented, for example retreat to heal. Perhaps adding new area's unlocked by progressing up to a certain point. These new area's would have different enemy unit compositions and will start off more difficult. A few more features implemented and the game remove some of the repetitiveness. This a solid game nonetheless; the mechanics were fine and smooth, the music also goes quite well with the game. Lastly, I end off appreciating the Realm Forces being polite enough to let the Dark Forces perform their animations for their special abilities, despite being possibly taken over by the Dark Forces.

Recommended Build for Battle for Darkness
Here is my build if anyone is interested: Chamans - Dark Mages - Archers - (Melee Unit)
The sequence for Melee Unit: Goblins > Skeletons > Fighters > Werewolves > Cursed Knights > Demon.

Basically, this is a 3 ranges and 1 melee setup. This is to obtain the maximum damage output. The Melee Unit is like tankers, there purpose is to protect ranges units and do some additional damage to realm units. Always use the Goblin Kamizake when you're facing a bad match up such as the City Guards vs werewolves, or madmen vs your cursed knights. The benefit of underworld fighters is they ressurect when they die. Used them to delay battles and probably the most effective way to wait for cooldowns without sacrificing units. Fiery Arrows, Black Rain and Apocalypse are strong AOE spells, remember to use regularly when facing massive units.

Stop GMO 2 Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Genre: Action, Shooter

Game Review
What will happen if you spot a genetically modified organism (GMO) in a water well when you are fetching water? In Stop GMO 2, GMOs are portrayed to be mutated and they kill. What will you to this environmental threat? It's time to arm yourself with weapons and enjoy some bullet action.

Stop GMO 2 is the place where you are given a chance to fight those modified vegetables you always hate and turn them into fertilizers. A total of 12 different nasty veg will crawl out slowly for the sides. Interestingly the game goes straight into killing and you need not to show any mercy. You will equip with basic, first and second weapon throughout. Basic weapon has unlimited ammunition but as for first and second weapon does which capped at 30 shells and 60 bullets. You need to collect ammo when running low by shooting the bags. While a limit may be reasonable but I think it is kind of low. I basically like saving those up during the early stages, only when needed then I will use. Additionally, the chef mode is a nice bonus. ^^

Generally, I think the upgrades are sufficient even though lacking in descriptions. Enemies start out pretty difficult due to your overly weak pistol. You find yourself progressing rapidly when you start to buy better weapon sequentially until the strongest one. I think the game itself have a lot room to improve. I suggest the developer to create another source of gold because, the situation now is I have to wait for it to fall from the ceiling. Besides that the lack of indicators of when drops appear off screen is little annoying. I won't say it is a bad game, it's still worth your time playing if you have some time to spare.

3. Handgun
4. Ammo
5. First Aid Bag
6. Shotgun
7. Machine Gun
8. Bomb
9. Repeat!

Basically, this is my build and I completed the game without all the upgrades. I used 10 attempts to clear the game, and if you are the kind that like to rush... Max Life, Handgun and Bomb first.

Folds - Origami Game Review

Folds - Origami

Genre: Puzzle, Education

Game Review
A good change of pace from all the shooter crazy and boss mania games out there. Let's take a look at this game called Folds - Origami now. What is the first thing that comes into your mind? In my opinion, it's art! The first Origami I learnt was making a paper Shuriken in primary school. As a 7 year old kid, I remember I have to follow the diagrams and memorize all the steps is nearly impossible. Speaking of being a art student, I am quite a terrible one.

Folds - Origami took a new approach to Japanese paper folding; Rather than going for some real-world, finished object, you are trying to pack material into the proper alignment using the fewest folds. This is what this puzzle flash game is about. It allows you to make complex shapes digitally and your goal is to create the shape indicated within the white dotted line in a limited number of folds/steps. Simply click and drag an edge of the paper to fold it to any angle you desire. Folds - Origami is actually a deceptively simple looking game, the puzzles are pretty tricky and unforgiving. You are required to think cleverly and able to visualize the shape after each fold. For the most part, I actually took out a piece of paper trying to solve the puzzle. Its legit way to cheat!

This is a well executed game. I really like the process when you sometimes believe it's impossible to solve the puzzle and getting a scissor is probably a better answer to this game... then suddenly you found the solution by rethinking the first fold. It is satisfying and entertaining when you get it correct. I have never thought Origami could make such a fascinating game! More importantly, no trees were harmed in the making of this flash game. ^^
