Game Review
Oh awesome! A new and interesting flash game called A Small Talk At The Back Of Beyond. By ScriptWelder, it's a short experimental text-based puzzle and adventure game that you are trying to get information from a source not too eager to give anything away. Basically, you communicate by inputting questions and statements to get responses.

The game begins with your character awaking disorientedly, unsure of where you are but in an unsettling claustrophobic room. You notice a screen ringing in your ears and telling you a story and questions, but you aren't sure if you can trust it. Your observations will be key to coaxing the answers of your situation out and say whatever you want to the AI. Apparently, a nuclear war has all but wiped out Earth, and you’re one of only a few survivors, kept alive by a government-created shelter. Or perhaps, a lie or I'm wrong?

While the official Beta is over, ScriptWelder will still add user submitted parser suggestions into the game. Unfortunately, A Small Talk At The Back Of Beyond still has a long way to go... I encountered far too many instances of potentially interesting pseudo-conversation halted by "I don’t understand" or "Can you try rephrasing that?". I would also wish the AI could respond better because I wanted to talk more and ask "Why it was afraid?". I feel like the AI might not have been a computer really, but maybe a consciousness within the system. Within 5 minutes, the flash game gave me more feelings than half the movies I've ever watched. ^^

Overall, A Small Talk At The Back Of Beyond is a short but an intelligent little game. It comes with tens or hundreds twist packed in very quickly, which makes the pacing seem a little rushed but all come together in a very satisfying way. I definitely hope for a sequel or something else. I'm really impressed!
