40xEscape Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Developer: Bart Bonte
Genre: Puzzle

Game Review
Game idea is simple you are firmly locked in a room and you've to escape. This is a flash game where you have to escape the room not twice but forty times! This flash game literally lives up to its name... Forty locked doors and forty tests of your problem solving skills. While we've seen Doooors and 100 Floors before, the environments in the rooms of those games could change almost dramatically. This game sticks to the same few ingredients then do everything possible to mix those little things up each round.

This game is very nicely done. Personally, I enjoy the challenge of a puzzle game. I particularly liked that each puzzle is short and to the point. Most puzzles were not too hard, only one that I needed help for; was stuck on level 35, definitely made no sense then looked up the answer. *smacks self in face* Obviously, the developer is quite clever in making puzzle games; he made it fun and interesting with the puzzles he could create with just "escape" and a few buttons. I can see the amount of effort that was put into it.

40xEscape has delivered in a very clean and nice presentation, with the little bird flying around. Aren’t the prettiest but it kind of grows in you, when you play it. Sometimes it can even make you become ”maniac” because you just can’t figure out the right combination, but you can’t quit because it gives you a good feeling when you finally figure the floor out. Took me a while, and I realized I was playing as a bird and I'm surprised none of the levels requires me to hit the esc button. Kinda disappointed.

Music Catch 2 Game Review

Game Review
What a lovely game! Music Catch is a flash game that thrives on its first impression and now presenting Music Catch 2. New shapes to catch, new patterns, new shape movement scheme, and new songs! Essentially this is the same game, you have to try to catch the colorful shapes that appear when the music plays with your mouse! The more shapes you collect, the more points you get. Yellow shapes give you a bonus and multiply your points, but beware for red shapes. Red shapes cut your multiplier in half, while purple shapes are like a vacuum cleaner that sucks in all the good shapes. Rainbow shape, which turns every on-screen shape to yellow.

The absolute soul crushing and heart wrenching frustration of making it to 99 combos before accidentally hitting a red shape. Normally, I will get frustrated if I fail to complete a game in 10 tries. However this game is indeed different, the music is beautiful and relaxing until I don't even care. In fact, I'm almost glad that I can't get it because I can play the game for another time! Simple games are the best, nothing fanciful.

I am really shocked to see people requesting for a mute button! I mean why would anyone want to mute such a beautiful game? They must be insane. Music Catch 2 reeks brilliance and peace and enjoyment come out whenever it is played. Right now, I'm going to copy these tracks into my phone... It's like the perfect way to wind down from a crazy day. It's really a wonderful game, I can't count the time I played Music Catch before Music Catch 2 came out. :)

Music Catch Game Review

Game Review
A truly beautiful game. Music Catch is one of those games that don’t really have a genre. It is a game based around the simplest of simple mechanics to collect shapes, there isn't much out there that's quite like it. What's more, the game can be as relaxing or challenging as you want it to be. All you need to do is move your cursor, hover over the shapes that pour forth from a rotating white line.

The piano will play heartwarming classical music, the kind that relaxes you and is perfect for stress relief. The shapes will appear in sync with the music. These shapes come in a few colors, but it is mainly made of green/blue shapes which worth points. Yellow shapes are multiplier and make your cursor grow larger. Red shapes are bad as they will eat away half of your multiplier and seriously shrink both your size and confidence. Lastly, the purple shape is what I call 'Purple Power'; sucking all the good shapes and inject massive score.

The immense amount of enjoyment that overwhelms you from listening to a piano musical piece cannot be replicated. The music is excellent and I like how the shapes go at different heights and speeds depending on the dynamic nature of the song. This is just one of those things that make you feel very content with the world and everything in it. Self note, do not attempt with laptop touchpad. :)

Hack Slash Crawl Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Hack Slash Crawl
Hack Slash Crawl Logo

Play Online: Hack Slash Crawl
Developer: HatchedGames
Genre: Adventure, Action

Game Review
After reviewing Bit Dungeon a few days ago, I have been playing another dungeon crawler. Hack Slash Crawl is one of them, it is an action RPG flash game. You enter the dungeons slaying goblins while at the same time, you’re upgrading your weapons and armor in order to fight more menacing enemies along the way. Be prepared for anything, because no two dungeons are alike.

There’s no story to this game unlike with console-based RPGs but before you begin, you have to select attributes on the friendly character-creation screen. There are 12 races and classes each. There’s nothing to stop you from personalize your character. Once done, you are ready to go. There are no complicated controls for you to memorize as your character instantly fights enemies whenever you hover around with your mouse. Defeating enemies will grant you XP, as well as various loots such as armors and weapons. They can be equipped in the inventory section and active spell can be obtained from looting.

Your number rule for survival is never get surrounded by them, the enemy easily overwhelm you in big numbers. The only effective way to stop them is to simply run away. Your health bar replenishes over time much like your magic bar does too, but something hard to do especially with a monster on your tail. After killing all those pests, a boss-baddie can be found near the opening to the next floor. Your journey continues...

Titles serve the purpose of making your character's tombstone more interesting. In the flash game, death is permanent but you will be rewarded with character title which add-on with a stat-boost to your next character. It’s an enjoyable action flash game for young RPGers. Interestingly, the healing animation makes the character look like he smells.

Elemental resistance is critical to success. Forget about poison, it's not a factor. Keep in mind that ice resistance is most important resistance for survival but still pick the highest elemental protection you can and always keep fire, ice and electric maxed out. This is more important than the armor in total. Build strength only to around 550 when you can one-hit anything. After that build up stamina to 200+ and you'll be indestructible as long as you keep elemental protection. Spells are useless in the later part of the game except heal/sanctify which can get you through gang attacks. Pro tip: Use the numbers on your keyboard, not the mouse to fire your spells.

You will learn that the most important magic you can have is 'critical hit'. Many weapon drops have this feature, and it the only feature that you need to one-hit at higher levels. There is only one class that has the Critical Hit spell as default, and that is Reaper. I strongly recommend reaper as the class you chose. Having this skill as a default skill means that you can always equip the highest damage weapon. You do not have to hang onto any specific piece of equipment, but merely evaluate weapon drops on highest damage capability. Critical damage skill is based on weapon damage, not character strength.

Golem Explorer: It gives +30 elemental resistance!
Vampire Reaper: It has lifesteal and critical strike.
Human Fighter: Well-balanced stats.
Werewolf Lightwielder: High regeneration and overpowered heal.

How To Be a Gamer: Having Passion

Having Passion
It’s safe to say that we all love a bit of gaming. Have you ever sat down and thought, "Is gaming my passion or just a hobby?" It's actually sound very similar. Both are what you are enjoying, what you have been spending a lot of time doing, what you consider as 'play' and you would do even if no one paid you.

The difference is the level of intensity of feeling. A passion is something that you dedicate your whole life to doing, not just your spare time. It has the potential to be turned into a lucrative business that can replace your job income. On the other hand, a hobby is something that you dabble in every now and then. You don't look to make any real money with it, and you do it purely as a recreational past-time. However, it's seldom a black or white distinction. The lines can and will often be blurred between a passion and a hobby.

According to me, passion has its enormous driving energy. It is like an invisible force that's observable and transferable. Best of all, you can't fake it. It's the gift of free will. The best way to find your passion is to take action! For myself, when I get passionate about something, I’ll continually do it for hours over a long period of time. Come to think about it, I will tend to find out more on those related stuff I have missed and understand it to the fullest. Actions are always taken to fuel my passion.

If you want to be a gamer, passion is a huge one. Not only does it energizes you and fuels your success, you get to strengthen your confidence in that particular area of interests. In the same way, passion invokes persistence. People who want something enough usually have a passion to achieve it because most never quit trying. In my opinion, you need to have a passion to have a purpose. I find it very difficult to imagine pursuing your purpose in life without having a passion for what you are doing. In other words, use your passion to give you a clue as to what your purpose is in life.

What I want to get across is mainly about, passion keeping you going. A gamer by passion is likely to excel and venture deeper into the field far longer, as they are not afraid to try or give up. They are doing for what they love and highly motivated during and after the process. That's the highest level of intensity of feeling can’t be compared to those who game as a hobby.

How To Develop Passion?
There’s a big myth in my culture: It’s something we used to thought just existed spontaneously. You either interested in reading books or you find them boring. You either enjoy exercising or exercise for the sake of it. You either love soccer or you don't. I disagree altogether. Passion can be created, even for things you don’t currently enjoy.

All it takes is a bit of patience and an open mind. Passion is simply you. It is ultimately your choice to start finding one and holding on to it. It can and will give you that special feeling and elevate you to greatness. With a little effort, you can easily find one. Here are some ways to find your passion:

Get Curious About Gaming - Curiosity is the basis of passion. Curious people always ask questions and search for answers in their minds. By being curious you will be able to see new worlds and possibilities which are normally not visible. For example, what is the difference between first person shooters and third person shooters?

Eliminate Excuses - Excuses allow us to stay within our comfort zone, but do excuses really let you live the life you really want? Excuses are poison to your passion. Never let yourself make any excuses about why you cannot go after gaming. Excuses exist only in your mind, and it is not until you make the choice to never make excuses again that you can start making real progress. Make the decision to game today!

Find The Time - Don’t have the time to game? Make the time! If this is a priority, you’ll make the time. Organize and plan ahead your life until you have the time. Most of the time, it is just a small adjustment to your daily schedule. This might mean waking earlier, or spend lesser time on facebook or twitter. Remember, there are gaps in everyone’s schedule where they aren’t doing anything important.

Give It A Try First - Still not certain? It is best to start gaming as a hobby, so that you can see if it’s really your true calling. You may be passionate about it for a few days, but where the rubber meets the road is whether you’re passionate about it for at least a few months. If you pass this test, you have probably found it.

Read And Research On Gamng - Know as much about gaming as possible. One quick way is to read on a gaming article or interview, some are very motivational and inspiring that will definitely catch your attention. Most writers are passionate and knowledgeable, you will be surprised by how excited you are just by reading or watching demos.

Feed or/and Share Your Passion - Feed your passion by surrounding yourself with others who already have and share your zeal or teach others. My math teacher always say this, "You don’t really know something until you have to teach it." Teach someone and you may spark their interests too! Often you’ll find that people are more than willing to give advice. Trust me.

Never Give Up - Last, but definitely not least is to never give up. The most common reason most people aren’t following their passion is because they gave up before they even had the chance to succeed. So keep trying, and try again, until you succeed. Success doesn’t come easy, so giving up early is a sure way to fail.

Creatively Complicated Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Creatively Complicated

Developer: BgroupProduction
Genre: Adventure, Puzzle

Game Review
I remembered my science teacher told us about our left side of the brain is considered to be adept at tasks that involve logic, language and analytical thinking. The right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks. For the most of the part of this flash game, you will use your right brain to solve some complicated puzzles creatively.

Quite the brain teaser. Other point and click games make it confusing what you can and can't click on, and that is what makes them hard. This actually relies on the puzzles themselves to entertain and challenge you. Turned out to be surprisingly good! The circle puzzle is unnecessarily hard, involving math is trickier than expected. Not everyone, including me, is as finely attuned to this kind of numeric spatial puzzle.

It is a fairly decent game. Once you pass the first puzzle, the rest is pretty straightforward. I'm disturbed by the fact of the many unused item slots again. I wonder if I have 14 item slots, I should be carrying maybe 12 at a time. Right? Too much logic. Now let's all agree... to never be creative again. :)

Creatively Complicated Guide
Solution to Creatively Complicated
Follow the Clicks
- Click here, here and here when told to.
- Then, click to highlight/pick-up the PIZZA from your inventory.
- Then, click on the little guy's mouth.
- Click the right edge of the screen to go right.

Keep to the Right
- You See a Door
- Door is locked. Needs key. Noted.
- Go right until you see Rings of Numbers

Rings of Numbers
- OBJECTIVE: turn the rings until each has the correct arrangment of four numbers.
- The two numbers on the outer edge of a ring must be equal to the number in the middle of the ring itself.
- The number where two rings intersect must be the sum of the numbers on either side.
- i.e. the number between the top two rings, 1 and 3, must be 4.
- When you have a number in the correct position, it will turn yellow.
- It helps to solve one ring at a time because it's easier to keep track of where to put the numbers as you progress. But if one set-up is proving too difficult, leave the room and return to reset the puzzle. It's randomly generated each time and some set-ups are a bit easier to solve.
- When all the numbers are correct, one of the fires will be lit.
- Go right.

Memory Match Game
- OBJECTIVE: memorize the placement of each color do-dad and then pair each up by clicking on the correct two panels.
- Pull the handle.
- Click on a panel to see what's behind it.
- Then click on the place where the matching item is hidden.
- If you mess up, you'll have to start all over.
- When you're successful, the second fire will be lit.
- Go right.

Grab the Torch
- Take the TORCH that's sticking out of some more brain stuff.
- Go left three times.

Get Lit and Be Strong
- Take the BOTTLE off the middle pillar.
- Give the BOTTLE to the little guy so he will drink it and be strong.
- Use the TORCH on the right fire to light it and get FIRE.
- Go left about five times until you reach the ramp where you found a heavy pile of stuff you couldn't lift earlier.

This is Heavy Stuff
- Now that you've drank the strength potion, go up the ramp and take the HEAVY PILE.
- Go right three times to the one big smily face.
- Put the HEAVY PILE on the big button.
- Go right.

Expressions Roulette
- OBJECTIVE: get four yellow smiley faces in a row.
- If you don't already have a smiley face in a column of blocks, sit down on the button in front of it.
- Hover your cursor on the ground somewhere to the left or right of that spot so you're ready to stand up as soon as a smiley face turns yellow in that column's middle row.
- If you stand up at the wrong time, you must move off screen and return to reset the puzzle. Unless it was the last button, in which case it will reset automatically.
- Change each yellow face until all are smiles.
- A SWITCH piece will land on the pillar to the right. Take it.
- Go right three times to the room with a broken switch and spinner.

Switch on the Spinner
- Go up the ramp. Put the SWITCH PIECE into the socket.
- Switch it up to the "on" position. The dial will spin, eventually stopping.
- Take the CRANK HANDLE out of the spinner.
- Go left five times until you see a sword stuck up in the ceiling.

A Boy and His Sword
- Use the torch of FIRE in the niche to the left of the sword.
- Pull the SWORD out of the rock in the ceiling.
- Go right.

Those Who Would Fight Monsters
- Move to the middle of the room by the tied-up girl.
- Click on the monster to find out he's mean.
- Use the SWORD on the monster.
- Click on the slot in the wall to find out you need something to make it work.
- Put the CRANK HANDLE into the slot in the wall.
- Turn the crank to lower the girl.
- Pick up the KEY.

The End
- Go right twice.
- Use the KEY on the door.
- Open the door and exit.

Game Review
Now this is a shocker! Seriously, games like these fill me with hope for the future of flash gaming. Mini Attack: Urban Combat is a 3D impressive third person view shooter and does run Unity so you need the Unity Plugin. There are 12 missions including 2 survival modes. For all casual gamers, get in touch with your inner evil side and let hell breaks loose; inflict pain by shooting people, blow stuff up and use Bullet-Time when needed.

As a purely single player flash game, Mini Attack: Urban Combat is definitely well-made one. I liked the graphics and the general model of the game. I mean just look at the amazing game and effort put into this. This kind of game has good potential, just needs a little more customization and multiplayer. There is nothing more you can complain for. Like most shooter games, weapon, armor, and health can be found in the shop system. I always have the habit of trying out all the weapons before completing the game. Don't ask me why, I don't know either. :)

Kind of remind me of the movie, The Expendables 2. If you are the kind of person who have lots of fun mass killing dudes with angry faces, this is the perfect game for this coming weekend. It's fun and easy to get headshots on those oversize characters. No scope 30 headshots have never been better. Last but not least remember to play in full screen mode, it really lift up your overall gameplay experience. This is just... WOW!

Game Review
I'm going to tell you right away about a cool new adventure game called Bit Dungeon. Oh my god, this game is a gem! As the title of the game suggests, you have been trapped in a dungeon for a thousand years asleep after the demons have captured you and your wife. You wake up trapped in a cell, grab your weapon and let the quest to find your wife begin in "bit" graphics! Not sure why but I just love the genre.

By slaying all the enemies in the cell will net you a key. You can then use it to open a locked gate and enter into the next cell. Each dungeon floor has a hidden boss behind the ominous red gate. Defeating it will let you proceed deeper, however it is wise to scout every cell before head-to-head the hidden boss. Occasionally, treasure in the form of equipment you can swap out your old weapons and armors for, or one of three permanent stat bonuses to choose from.

If you're low on health, always consider going back to cells you've cleared to kill some of the low level carrion fiends and the ghosts that appear and often leaving healing potions when slain. Why? Well, because death is permanent. It's merciless; Forcing you to replay the entire game from the beginning. I hate losing all my powerful gear forever, and this is how permanent death adds tension and excitement.

I like the one-death-kill system aka Deathstrike and magic system. It resembles the old-fashioned games, and that's not a bad thing in a game like this. The game is easy enough that I'm progressing at a perfect pace without much difficulty and gives a great feel of a retro dungeon crawler, awesome! What matters to me is the bloody footprints, it makes me happy. That is all, I'm out!

Ah... Clickplay Quickfire. Don't we all love it? I have fallen for all the adorable mini-games which can simply put into one word; Addictive! Exactly like the previous versions of Clickplay Quickfire, these mini-games and puzzles range from spot the difference style, escape room type codes and just general action click puzzles. The gameplay just gets better as it continues to release newer mini-games that require you to think out of the box.

Completing these challenging puzzles is enjoyably fun, and if you can make it through all of them with a reasonable amount of time, you will be extremely satisfying. It never fails to keep you energized for more, in spite of the fact that I think this one was just slightly too language dependent especially level 10 and 15. In my conclusion it has turned out to be a superb solo experience.

Clickplay Quickfire 3 is no doubt an interesting game. The developer has pushed the boundaries in his area of audio-visual, not forgetting the gameplay such as the speed at which we can adapt to new mini-games. Well, are there any complaints? Yes, of course! It all seems over too soon. :)

Game Review
Rumour has it that the 'play' button is on the run again. It's true! This time round with another set of puzzles for you guys to solve! It is a silly puzzle game that hides the 'play' button in the strangest of places, and it's up to you to find it. But as silly as they may be they are quick, fun to play and some are quite cleverly designed which involve puzzles. Challenge yourself by using your mouse to interact with objects on the screen now!

Mostly relying on logic, speed, and outside of the box thinking, ranging from embarrassingly simple to downright infuriating. I remember the stage where you have to pick the color not the word. I stuck at that level for quite some time until all my points are gone. I messed up quite badly and still can't clear it within first try because my unconscious side of my mind keep picking the word.

I love those 20 puzzles comes together to form a pretty awesome game that is extremely addicting. I suggest trying this game now and give it your best shot! Remember you are against time for points; Every second is a point lost! Instantaneous responses are required for the highest total.

Game Review
Robin Steele. Who says crime doesn't pay? Becoming a millionaire is a dream for everyone, including Robin Steele! Stealing is a hobby, and become a millionaire is a dream. Master Thief knows only one way to get there a crooked way. He's already got a target now, how much money he should get? He is determined and will not stop until his dream is achieved.

Robin Steele is a 3-lane platform type of flash game. If you don't know what that genre is, the game plays fairly straightforward. It's a fairly new type of gameplay, it just consists of you running, jumping, and do whatever the developer wants in a straight line trying to escape from certain destruction. Your entire objective is to grab as much loot as possible before being caught red-handed. A side-note here; Always jump and avoid the pillars and chairs, I got frustrated when 90% of the time I fail to notice those as an obstacle.

Although nothing really feels new, the novelty of the entertaining concept and retro-spy stylization hasn't worn off. In my personal opinion, it is generally a neat game and I liked a lot the music from its generic. The controls are a little clunky, however it can break the flow of the game. Did I mention about the upgrades yet? The upgrades are just right to help you get that addition score. You will be having some fun if you're in the mood for some good platform flash games, Robin Steele is the one you can try on. :)

Lost Robot Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Game Review
In my opinion, no robot should ever be lost. They are equipped with the latest technology like the GPS and has a great connection over the Internet, right? Lost Robot is a point-and-click puzzler brought to us by EarlGreat about a robot powered down after a routine check-up a month ago. He is now on a quest to find out what is going on back then... Basically your aim is to get the robot out of the laboratory.

I must say this is actually one of the easiest flash game, on the other hand it entertains for a short while. The puzzles didn't have the arbitrary solutions some small  Point-and-Click games rely on, which is definitely wonderful! The presentation was acceptable, not forgetting that there is some voice-acting in the flash game. There is one thing I find it very disturbing; Uniquely Salad and Salad Dressing don't mix because when I tried, it replied 'I don't think these two things would work well together'. Unquestionable Robot logic. :)

Knightmare Tower Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Knightmare Tower

Developer: Juicy Beast
Genre: Launch, Upgrades, Action

Game Review
TOTAL KNIGHTMAAAAARE!!! Knightmare Tower is a new launch and slash action flash game that shows you how to defy gravity like a sir! The story requires you to do something heroic; You are a knight and an evil being residing at the top of the Knightmare Tower have kidnapped 10 princesses! Hurry up, grab your sword and launch yourself up the tower to rescue them. Don't let those gruesome monsters stop you from completing your quest.

For your information, Juicy Beast is the talented developer studio who created the Burrito Bison series. This time round, they have attempted something different; Vertical launching style! You are shot from a big-ass rocket upwards. Equipped with your trusty sword and armor, you will slice-and-dice at upcoming enemies to gain speed and not to fall from the tower. If you fall however, your rocket will come to your rescue. Doing this over and over will ensure you stay above the rising lava, increase your speed and ultimately rescue all the princesses. Luckily enough, you will find yourself power-up potion that will give a good boost.

I really enjoyed this game, it was original for me, all of the mechanics complimented each other very well. Everything you do results in a direct reward. Saving a princess by reaching a certain distance in the tower will unlock new elements to the gameplay. The game is addictive and satisfying, with a survival mode after you complete the story one. The easy to master gameplay make it a winner for players looking for something snappy and casual to fill some time.

It cannot be stressed enough how unacceptably fantastic this game is. It started off very simple. Five minutes later, I'm frantically avoiding fireballs, giant spiked snakes and beams of energy, while trying to attack enemies with pinpoint accuracy. Somehow I don't think those princesses are the king's biological daughters... Or may be the king just had a lot of fun in his day. :D

Antbuster Game Review & Walkthrough Guide

Developer: Rstein
Genre: Strategy, Defense

Game Review
Antbuster is one of those addicting flash games you can't miss! To be honest, I still can't think of a way that this game could be improved. It has not failed to bring nostalgic memories during my secondary school life. I used to play on this game about once every week or so for the past couple of years back then and challenged my friends on the highest points.

Well, the scenario was your picnic is under attack! You chose a good place to make your lunch, but you don’t see an anthill nearby... Spread the cannons in the field to stop the ants that are trying to steal your cake. Upgrade your cannons with over 50 different types and try the combinations to make the best Antbuster system which honestly you can't. Impossible to win. >:)

I really like this flash game, because it shows how much you can accomplish when you are always pushing yourself to new limits, trying thousands of different combinations. One of the reasons is because they rely on their artificial intelligence; It is nicely designed except it keeps diverting the ants to my weakest area. When I reinforce, then the ants simply march right through so fast that I can't kill them quick enough. In addition, the ants are growing exponentially tougher and faster every level. Eventually, your cannons will not have enough firepower to destroy those little creatures. You will get frustrated when you start to lose 3 or more pieces.

Its objective is to see how many waves can you last until you 'cake over'. I must admit it is very difficult once you get past wave 65. There's no perfect antbuster strategy in this flash game but, I can suggest the best one in walkthrough guide below. One last thing. The game is full of bugs but it is not stopping me from playing it again! Just couldn't help it. :)

Recommended Build for Antbuster
As far as the best goes, snipers seem to be the winners even though other cannons do more damage. I cleared the game at level 89 before 'cake over'. Snipers have plenty of range and can do enough damage over a long period of time when targeted. This is why the most successful tactics use snipers. The only down side to it is that other ants often wander around blocking shots from the snipers so the ant you want to hit is shielded.

Ice cannons are mandatory. Well not for the damage however for the incredible slow. You must have 2 upgraded Ice cannons to be competitive. You won't be a drastic difference from Ice I to Ice II but after a few games of ice II, the Ice II's simply hit more often and freeze faster.

Poison cannons can do nice damage to ants with alot of it being dmaage over time. Multiple poison cannons only will re poison the ants, so it's good to only use 1 poison cannon at the hole, and another poison cannon near the cake. This setup for poison is optional.
