Game Review
Our body is a complex system built for everyday's survival and incredible phenomena are happening in your body all the time. But have you ever stopped to think about what keeps you breathing, how information travels from your senses to your brain instantly, or any of the other amazing things that constantly happen to keep you alive? What happens when the human body is put into extreme situations? These questions can be answered by Code Fred: Survival Mode sponsored by the Museum of Science and Technology of Chicago, which is an educational flash game teaching how your body works.
In the game, you are Fred. Fred is having a really bad day! Lost in a forest late at night while making your way back to camp. Soon, you find yourself attacking by a lone wolf. Your job is to jump inside the human body and participate in these physiological processes to help Fred outrun danger in the woods in various engaging mini games. For example, build a blood clot to help heal a wolf bite, prioritize energy intake to the most critical organs, and even fight bacteria invaders after Fred gets sneezed on in the woods.
The idea behind Code Fred: Survival Mode is original. It presents the human body in an understandable way that still makes me feel a little smart! The information is accurate and meaningful from a medical and scientific point of view. I can safely say, the education factor is beneficial to people of all ages. Things like this should appear more often in classrooms! Biology would become so much more interesting when you see things in action like this. This is probably one of the most educational games I have played. Now no one can say I haven't been productive! >:D
